Thank you to everyone on this list who provided information about internal
evaluators at other museums. Because of your help, I have been given the
opportunity to hire Pacific Science Center's first evaluation manager. A
summary of the position is included below.

Evaluation Manager
Pacific Science Center
(Full-Time/Exempt)

The Evaluation Manager is a newly created position that reflects Pacific
Science Center’s commitment to creating a comprehensive assessment of the
museum’s audience and of the effectiveness of its education programs and
exhibits. As a member of the Science Center’s development team, the
Evaluation Manager reports to the Grants Manager and will oversee all
activities related to the evaluation and assessment of Pacific Science Center’s
audience, education programs and exhibits.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years experience in
evaluation of education programs, exhibits, survey research, or related work,
or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The Evaluation
Manager will have experience planning, organizing and coordinating projects
while working in a team environment. Demonstrated experience in behavioral
research is required and previous experience with museum evaluation or
informal learning is desired.

The Pacific Science Center is an independent, not-for-profit educational
institution that inspires lifelong interest in science, math, and technology by
engaging diverse communities in interactive and innovative exhibits and
programs throughout Washington State. (For more information about the
