Hello Kyrie,
The Morehead Planetarium and Science Center, in Chapel Hill, NC,
recently developed the traveling exhibit The Ancient Carolinians. It
explores the lives of the earliest peoples that lived in the Carolinas
and how we can use the science of archaeology (combined with many other
sciences) to tell their story. In the creation of this exhibit, we
worked with archaeologists, American Indian groups in NC, and primitive
skills specialists. Each month we have a different event related to the
content of the exhibit -- a symposium focused on current research of
extant American Indians tribes in NC, teacher workshops, and family
science events. These events have provided us with the opportunity to
attract a wider audience, and provide deeper experiences for our visitors.
Please call if you have any questions and the best of luck in your own
exhibit development process!
