The New York Times for Sunday, September 23rd included an article about
"Appomattox" by Steve Smith, and the very first sentence is a classic:

   "Whoever said history never repeats itself never reckoned with
   Philip Glass."

At least that day, the funniest line in the Sunday Times was not by Frank
Rich or Maureen Dowd!
