I'm looking forward to SHA Leicester in 2013, Paul. I may even have enough pennies saved for the trip by then. SHA York 2005 set such a high bar for you with its tours around Yorkshire that I hope everyone's brainstorming to top them. BJH

  Dear All

Steve Walton of Penn State came up good reasons that my initial thought
(derided by a certain specialist UK museum which shall remain nameless)
that the shot is a failed bar shot was right and added he thought it
might be a hinged form. As Dubrovnik was a major port it would be
appropriate. Anyway a photo should be in issue 45:2 (2011)of
Post-Medieval Archaeology. Long live Histarch and thanks to all those
who responded. Its nice to keep track with both new and old friends from
across the Atlantic as well learning so much. Hope to see many of you
you at SHA in 2013 in Leicester though I can't get my brain round having
it on my doorstep- I was pretty culture shocked when I arrived at SHA
Richmond back in 1991.
