There is a link to the casting director in the article ( not the best person
to approach) but I have sent an e-mail asking them to reconsider their
approach to include archaeological guidance, research plans and analysis.
The show could still be a public archaeology/reality show and be done well
with positive outcomes. They don't need to go the looters/treasure hunter
route. If enough archaeologist push the same line with warnings of a public
backlash once we publicise the harm they have done it might make them modify
their approach. For one thing a program that has generated a bad publicity
campaign could be hard to sell to the networks they are looking at
presenting it too.
