Fellow HistArch-ers,
I'm considering getting a GPS unit and am intersted in hearing
any recommendations. I'm interested in a tough, handheld
device that is fairly accurate and can display on downloaded
or chip-stored (or some such) topographic maps. This would
be primarily for personal use, so anything from hiking
to documenting house sites, cemeteries, etc.
I recently toured Garmin's web-site and much of their
product seems to be oriented to the automotive market, with
street maps or diagrammatic maps and 'how to get from here
to there' features.
Any advice would be appreciated!
Regards,
Marty Perdue
