I stumbled across this in a psychology textbook:
. . . Harrer and Harrer monitored the heart rate of the famous
conductor Herbert von Karajan. He flew his own private jet. His heart
rate rose when landing his plane at Salzburg Airport. It rose further
when he was told to make an emergency takeoff just after landing, but
not so much as when he was conducting emotional passages of Beethoven's
"Leonore Overture No. 3."
