IMO you will do significantly better with the Alfredo Perl set on Arte
Nova: all the sonatas plus the Diabelli variations for about $40 to $50
depending on where you buy it.  The sound is a lot better than the Nimbus
series, and the interpretations are all above "servicable" levels, with the
usual unevenness you have to live with in any complete set.  In particular,
Perl's Diabelli is competitive with the best out there, and his early
sonatas are particularly fine.
