You blinked. I recently ordered this:
Rubbra's Concerto for Piano in G & +Sym. No. 4; Soliloquy for Cello &
Orchestra. Binns, Handley/London SO (CTN-5691932; a.k.a. 72372310182; go
figure) Mid-priced, I was told
I'm encouraged by your view that it's better than Britten's PC. To muddy
the waters, though, I noticed a Rubbra Sinfonia Concertante with piano
obligatto available on Chandos ...so _this_ might've been the one you had
in mind:
Rubbra's A Tribute for Ralph Vaughan Williams, Op. 56; Symphony No. 1;
Sinfonia Concertante. Hickox/BBC Natl. Orch. of Wales. (Chandos 9538)
Which was the one that so impressed you?
Bert Bailey, in Ottawa
