I would like to mention Jan Sandstroem in this thread. He wrote the
"famous" motorbike concerto for Christian Lindberg (its recorded on a
Phono Suecia CD - PSCD 87 - with Lindberg and the Gothenburg SO). There
is also a BIS CD called Lindberg plays Sandstroem (BIS 828) featuring the
2nd trombone concerto "Don Quixote" and 3 shorter works for trombone and
orchestra (all with Osmo Vaenskae and the Lahti SO). This is a very nice
disc and Lindbergs 15 year old daughter painted a couple of "ilustrations"
for the booklet. By the way, there is also a very fine trombone concerto
by Christopher Rouse!
