True enough, though there is still the problem of shelf space, not
to mention time for listening.  I have owned a number of Beethoven sets
over many years and have given away all but the quintessential Weingartner
and the Szell.  I have kept a few singles: Cantelli #7, Horenstein #9,
Rattle #6, etc.  At my age it is increasingly hard to listen to any
Beethoven with anything like fresh ears, and I have to give lots of
breathing room between my approaches to these masterpieces.
