Does anyone know of a cart-type activity (ie. not a stage demonstration
or workshop) on measuring temperatures of different materials? I'm
trying to (not have to re-) create an activity relating to urban heat
islands (ie. Concrete, buildings, etc. retain more heat than
leafy/grassy areas) and want to know if I'm on the right track and/or
any experience others have. I'm thinking some sort of light or heat lamp
and pavement sample vs. roof vs. plant, etc. Could this also be done
with some sort adaptation of a thermal conductivity demo (given the
earlier discussion of why sand is hot) - if one exists? Thanks!
