Mapcruncher looks to be great, except that it relies on Virtual Earth. I am
working on a project on the historic mining sites at Broken Hill and I want
to overlay (rubbersheet) some historic plans on contemporary plans and
aerial photos so I can do a detailed survey to see what remains (of the Zinc
Corporation’s first concentrating plant) might be there. So far Mapcruncher
looks good except that for some reason Google Earth and Google Maps has a
better coverage of Broken Hill as its aerials are at a better scale and
resolution – Bugger!
