Barenboim hasn't arrived the field of composing. I disagree about the
using of genius. As a young pianist with technical difficulties when
approaching Liszt or Chopin, I look up to a pianist like Barenboim who
plays such difficult passages without making it acrobatic and sweaty.
Some listners underestimate these achievements of perfection and playing
spontaniously well in front of audiences. It is extremely difficult!
You know what it takes to memorise 26 Mozar Concertos in different
keys/movements and play them off by heart.
