This experiment has been performed on occasion, and with untutored
audiences who generally go for the "name brand." When conducted before an
audience of students knowledgable to some degree about CM, and who might
be "on" to the motive behind the experiment, they almost always choose the
work that seems to be the most well "crafted," even though that work turns
out in the end to be the lesser work. All of which supports my argument
stated here several times that the line between craft and art is not easily
discernible. "Craft" is the seducer, "Art" is the Holy Grail.
