The list can also include the Australian aboriginal instrument, the
didgeridoo, which Peter Sculthorpe has used in several works, including
his Requiem. You are likely to hear these works in the concert hall in
Australia, and there have also been occasional performances in the UK.
For the record, Malcolm Arnold's Grand Grand Overture uses not only three
vacuum cleaners but a floor polisher. A typewriter is used (or simulated)
in Leroy Anderson's The Typewriter, and in a work by Ibert whose name
eludes me.
