The Kodaly aren't bad but rather *run-of-the-mill*, I'd think. There is
no complete set that is really interesting. Anything the Mosaique Qt and
the Festetics Qt. is great stuff and transcends HIP. More (early) HIP:
the Collegium Aureum Qt. (op.64). The Salomon Qt. is not on a par with
these. Among older versions I like the Amadeus op.76, the Hungarians'
op.76 as well (especially the Quinten Qt.), some of the Tatrai recordings.
For historical recordings: the few recordings made by the Schneiderhan
Qt., the Hollywood, Budapest & Busch Qt. Avoid the Aeolian Qt. at all
costs ;)
