The violin concerto's been recorded a few times. There's a recording
on New Albion (with the Etudes and Maria Tryptichon), there was an LP on
Candide, there was an LP on Louisville (yay Louisville!- this is the one I
know), there's a recording on Jecklin (a reissue of the Candide LP- this is
a CD called Martin dirige Martin and also has the 2nd piano concerto; I
prefer the first concerto of the two piano concerti, but you may well want
to seek out this CD!), there was a London LP (poss. the same as one of the
others?), a CD on London as mentioned by G. Gaskell, (well actually a CD
duo), another recording on an ABC Classics CD 8.770004 (with Barber and
Milhaud 2), ...
Probably some others. I'd watch out for one on Chandos, too, may I hope?
That series is a good idea- to my mind.
It .is. a beautiful piece.
