The list we are generating is great - BUT - any chance those responding
could give one specific short example of an exhibit or program that meets
your criteria for making this this one of your favorites?   Example of a
specific experience such as "a massive pendulum that kids can get swinging
with a small low force magnet by repeatedly pulling the pendulum" would be
helpful for thinking about experiences that establish important criteria for
being listed as "hands-on."  What makes hands-on hands-on for you?

I agree with Paul on both the City Museum in St. Louis and the Discovery
Museums in Acton, MA.

I'd add: The Children's Museum of Pittsburgh. Very much visitor-directed
play.
