I'd like to make a big version of a Galilean telescope for the exhibit hall behind the planetarium. I have plano-convex and plano-concave lenses from a optical bench kit, 50mm diameter, focal length 50cm, but it's been suggested that a larger lens by used, say 10cm, with a similar half-meter focal length.
Most of the kits I've seen come with 50mm lenses. Anyone have suggested sources for larger, optical-quality glass lenses?
