There's a new site, The Hurricane Information Center:
http://www.hurricanes08.org/
Created by Andy Carvin (NPR) originally for Gustav, this site aggregates a
lot of hurricane tracking services, news feeds, and first person reports and
videos.

A buddy of mine just linked me up to this site to watch Ike - it has
very excellent graphic overlay options (upper right on your screen) -
for example you can quickly look at the data from buoys in the Gulf.

If anyone else has unusual hurricane tracking sites to recommend -
I'd be interested.
As a side note, and as a comment on Gustav: when New Orleans didn't
get a direct hit, it was amazing how quickly it dropped out of the
spotlight. As if not much happened. Some parishes in Louisiana got
20 inches of rain, major power outages, continuing in some places,
major crop damage, etc.
