We’re pleased to announce the first in a series of “In the Field” posts
from the Maryland Maritime Archaeology Program (MMAP) of the Maryland
Historical Trust/SHPO. Dr. Susan Langley provides the historical
background behind MMAP’s multi-sensor gradiometer search to relocate and
investigate the remains of a ship thought to be the War of 1812-era
vessel, the U.S.S. Scorpion.
