Misty,
The publication "La collection archéologique du premier palais de l'intendant: aux portes d'un continent imprévu" by Céline Cloutier will be very helpful for you. You can order it through the web site:

Objet : French signet rings
Does anyone know of any references for or sites (French or otherwise) that have produced 18th century French signet rings? The publications I've seen, such as Carolyn White's American Artifacts of Personal Adornment, 1680-1820, are more oriented toward those of the UK/ American colonies/English-speaking world.
Thanks.
