At Santa Elena, near Beaufort SC, occ. c.1565-1585, the Spanish did not use tobacco pipes except, possibly, Native American pipes. But then, this was the case with other Europeans as well at that time.

Out in California, they used cigars. I am not aware of Spanish tobacco
