Does anyone know of a study (or list, chronology, book...) done on
common little ink bottles?   (or masters; but we've only found one of
those, so far).
 
I'm trying to date a variety of them (16 from 5 diff. makers; from a
privy), but seem to only have general manufacturing technique...to go by
(for broad dates). (there are also 5 additional unmarked inks).
 
Also wonder what the 'code' #s on the base mean...especially the
fraction (7 1/2).  Does it correspond with a type of ink color?
 
I had contact with someone (Catherine Spude?) a couple yrs ago...who had
had access to Sanford Ink catalogs, but no longer did.  So, obviously
some exist.   I know of 1001inkbottles.com ...unfortunately he doesn't
have date info.
