Hello -
Has anyone on this list ever encountered the phrase "Nevada System of Ore
Hauling?"
This practice is referred to in an 1881 mining company report from AZ,
which appears to be their practice for hauling from mine to mill.
I have looked in several old mining books, but the term does not appear.
It is probably some type of professional jargon, but I wonder if there was
some special technique/practice for the arrangement or operation of
mule-drawn ore wagons that was unique to NV at this time?
Does anyone here know how to contact Don Hardesty these days? I hear Don
retired.
