      You are working on mid-west farmstead sites, however I though you and

others might not be aware of the Northeast Historical Archaeology “Special

Issue: Historic Preservation and the Archaeology of Nineteen-Century

Farmsteads in the Northeast.”  This was published as volume 30-31 in 2002

and there are probably a fair number of references to farmstead articles

and reports from outside the northeast.  Information for ordering this

volume can be found on the Council for Northeast Historical Archaeology web

page.



      Terry Klein and I have an article titled “A System for Ranking the

Research Potential of Nineteenth and Twentieth-Century Farmstead Sites” in

that volume and I can send this on line to those that might be interested.
