Cartolandia was a cardboard shanty town in Tijuana, Baja California. I
believe there were sociology studies of that town, perhaps through San Diego State
University.

Hello HISTARCH,

I am trying to compile a comparative study for a research design about
an early 20th century hooverville (or shantytown). But I am having a
hard time finding information on similar excavations or sites. Perhaps
I am just searching with the wrong keywords? ("Hooverville
Archaeology" gets me nowhere.) Does anyone have any suggestions for
references or sites, or even just search terms? The site is in the
Pacific Northwest, but I'll take any sites from around the country for
comparison.

Thank you in advance for any assistance, it is very much appreciated!
