Hi,

St. Louis had a laser system that used cracked oil as the mist.  It made a mess on nearby exhibits.  Water is probably a cleaner option.  The thing to remember is that your HVAC will have to be able to suck it all out of the air afterwards.  Also, remember that some of your visitors may have asthma or breathing issues, and any suspended substance will affect them.
