APOLOGIES FOR CROSS-POSTING

Quarked! Adventures in the Subatomic Universe (www.quarked.org) is an
NSF-EPSCoR funded project at the University of Kansas. Components of the
project include an interactive website with games, lesson plans and
animated videos, as well as two hands-on workshops at the KU Natural
History Museum for grades 2 and up: How Small is Small? which explores the
concept of scale, and Quarks: Ups, Downs and the Universe which introduces
particle theory and examines some key properties of subatomic particles,
and how they come together to form more familiar particles and substances.

Based on the success of the workshops with both students and teachers, we
are considering seeking funding to produce replica kits of the workshop
materials and providing them, along with training, to interested science
centers and museums. At the moment, we are trying to gauge the level of
interest if this were available. If interested, please contact Alice Bean,
Professor of Physics & Astronomy at [log in to unmask]
