In 1985 the State Historical Society of Wisconsin conducted test excavations
at a multicomponent site in Milwaukee County. Historic ceramics include
wares marked "Schlitz Hotel" or sherds with that pattern. Makers mark is
Bauscher Weiden Germany. A variation of the mark is "New York" in addition
to Weiden, 1910 printed in orange. The site is reported in "Transportation
Archaeology in Wisconsin: the 1985 field season." I might be able to scare
up a copy if it would be useful.
