Hi Eric,

The NPS name that occurs to me is Barbara Little (she's with the NPS in DC, 
and a well-known commentator about historical archaeology generally, and 
about the area in specific terms as well)...

Another good contact would be Pamela Cressey, who's been doing amazing HA in 
Alexandria for years and years. Her program is very well-known.

Since that area in particular is pretty packed with HA's, I'm sure you'll 
get lots of feedback to your query, and my own address list is chockablock 
with names of people who work in the area...how far outside of DC proper are 
you casting your net?
