The first book is Rebecca Yamin's "Digging in the City of Brotherly Love:
Stories from Philadelphia Archaeology." "Beneath the modern city of
Philadelphia lie countless clues to its history and the lives of residents
long forgotten. This intriguing book explores eighteenth- and
nineteenth-century Philadelphia through the findings of archaeological
excavations, sharing with readers the excitement of digging into the past
and reconstructing the lives of earlier inhabitants of the city."
The second book featured will be Left Coast Author Douglas McVarish's
American Industrial Archaeology, A Field Guide
(http://lcoastpress.com/book.php?id=135). "This comprehensive guide provides
the reader with basic information of the most common types of structures,
sites, and objects encountered in industrial archaeology. These include
bridges, railroads, roads, waterways, several types of production and
extraction factories, water and power generating facilities, and others."
