ACADEMIC JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, ANTHROPOLOGY
BINGHAMTON UNIVERSITY
 
The Department of Anthropology at Binghamton University seeks to hire a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor in archaeology for the academic year 2008-09.  Applicants should have a research specialty in eastern North America, preferably in the Northeast.  Theoretical interests should complement those of the current faculty.  A demonstrated analytical expertise (for example, lithic, botanical or ceramic analysis) is required.  The successful candidate will be expected to teach five courses (two in the fall semester and three in the spring), of which one or two will be at the graduate level.  One course should be in the applicant’s geographic area of research and one a practicum in their analytical specialty; the remaining courses are to be decided in consultation with the archaeology faculty. Candidates must have PhD in hand prior to employment. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
