I'd just like to thank the many people on the list who contributed their 
responses to the questions I posed about the housing of historical 
archaeologist academic positions within History or Anthropology 
departments.  Although many of the replies highlighted differences 
that we could have expected to hear about, such as those concerning 
written evidence versus material culture or the typical research 
expectations in the two disciplines, your comments are of great help 
as we--hopefully--move this position forward.
