My 7 year old son's class spent some time studying teeth this year.  They
did the typical egg in coke experiment and then brushed the egg.  They also
put an egg in Sprite, and according to him, the shell became "soft" and
"bouncy".  The take-away message for him was the damage soda could do to the
enamel of your teeth.

This experiment is similar to the coke and egg one...it takes time...but the
kids talked about it for days.

Has anyone done this experiment, and can it be modified to fit within a
museum setting.
