Thank you for the great responses!  I'll throw a few more questions out
there since the list has been so helpful.

-I've seen museums use round belts that look like plastic string.  I can see
an obvious advantage of using this belt to provide a reliable slip clutch
for overzealous visitors.  Any thoughts on this?

-And speaking of slip clutches, do you usually recommend a friction clutch
from McMaster, or is there a better alternative for hand-cranked
applications?
