Hi Gabriel,
We have just been dealing with this problem in an exhibit on landfills.
I finally devised a system with a small sort of "trumpet" that is
attached by plumbing to a very small muffin fan that is controlled by
the exhibit. The fan is designed to remain on for a specific length of
time and there is an audio recording that explains what is happening
during the time the fan is on. There is a small set of flaps that closes
on the inlet side of the fan to prevent the smell coming out the back
way. The pipe to the trumpet is relatively long. While you can still
smell the stink when the fan isn't running you have to be right up
against the trumpet to get the effect. When the fan is blowing the smell
obviously wafts out to a greater extent.
Hope this helps,
John Bowditch

Hi All:
I am building an exhibit on scent and would like some advice on how to
deliver odors via a switch. I've seen "Smell" exhibits with a manual
squeeze, but I'm looking to have a visitor hit a button and the scent be
blown at them.
I was told the device to release the smell was called an odorizer, but
can't find one. Someone also told me about a company that brought by a
case with every imaginable smell as samples??? Any direction is much
appreciated.
Thanks,
Gabriel Nathanson
