Jesus Pimental asked for recording recommendaations for Scarlatti's sonatas
on piano and harpsichord.

For many years, I have favored an EMI disc played by Christian
Zacharias(sp?) on piano. The playing on this disc was so fluid that it
overcame my annoyance of Scarlatti's helter-skelter/frenetic writing.
Knowing EMI, this recording is likely out of print. In its absence, I'd
recommend the 2-disc set on Virgin by Pletnev.

On harpsichord, you can't go wrong with Scott Ross who recorded all the
Scarlatti sonatas. Assuming that buying the entire set is not viable, I
do believe that Erato has issued some single discs.
