LEEDS INTERNATIONAL SCHUBERT CONFERENCE
THURSDAY 29 JUNE - SUNDAY 2 JULY 2000
CALL FOR PAPERS
The University of Leeds in association with the Schubert Institute (UK)
will host an International Schubert Conference and Festival the aim of
which is to provide a forum for current Schubert research in the context
of performances of his works. The keynote speaker will be Charles Rosen
(USA) who will also give a recital.
Proposals are now invited for papers of 20 minutes' duration in the two
main areas of performance practice (embracing source study, interpretation
and period performance) and analytical studies, but other study areas will
also be considered.
You should send an abstract of your proposed paper (maximum of 500 words),
which may be written in English or in German, to Dr. Crawford Howie,
Department of Music, The University of Manchester, Denmark Road, MANCHESTER
M15 6HY, to arrive not later than Monday 1 November 1999. It should be
left unsigned but should be accompanied by a sealed envelope containing
your name, postal address, email address and telephone number. You may
