Yesterday evening I heard the sixth symphony live with the Gotenburg
Symphony Orechestra. Conducting was Manfred Honeck, an Austrian in his
thirties and a rising star. Tchaikovsky might have taken a lot of flak,
but that performance was perahps the most moving one I heard our symphony
orchestra perform, regardless of composer. Very emotional and taut at the
same time. Honeck was conducting without a score, it is evidently in his
blood It was a lovely evening
