But where is the classical Furtwangler performance with the BPO (DG,
May 14th, 1953)? I also like Karajan's live performance with the
Sttaskapelle Dresden in Salzburg (DG, August 13th, 1972), much better
than his "official" recording with the BPO (also DG).  I agree on Szell,
Sawallisch and Bernstein.  Inbal and Jordan seem surprising, but I've never
heard them in this piece.  And one of the worse I've ever heard - with
Ceccato - is Leinsdorf (RCA).
