ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

Science center colleague Seddon Bennington has died tragically in a hiking
accident in New Zealand.

Many of us in this global science center community are feeling his loss
personally. He was a respected leader and a friend to many, having been
chief Executive of Te Papa Museum of New Zealand in Wellington, director of
Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and chief executive of
Scitech Discovery Centre in Perth, Australia. I treasured the opportunity to
work more closely with him during the five years he served on ASTC's Board
of Directors in the late 1990's.
