ISEN-ASTC-L is a service of the Association of Science-Technology Centers
Incorporated, a worldwide network of science museums and related institutions.

What about looking at something alive? This was the first use of a
microscope. You could go to a local pond and collect pond scum (full
of interesting living things) or perhaps you have an aquarium that
has algae in it or order some protozoans from Carolina or another
biological supply company (paramecium or amoeba last long in
cultures). You can show lots of life easily. Visitors find them
fascinating (the Wentscope is easy to use for this purpose) and you
can make all kinds or references (eg algae and the rise of
multicellular life in part due to oxygen production many years ago).

I'd be glad to help just contact me off line.

Cheers,

Martin
