Donald remembers:

> Towards the end of the 78 era there was an album of Brahms 1st by
> Stokowski on RCA that was pressed out of red vinyl for quieter
> surfaces than shellac 78s.

For years after the switch to LPs, I hung onto my red vinyl recording
of Beethoven's Ninth with Koussie and the BSO. As Donald says, those
were the days!

Incidental intelligence: In Swedish the slang term for 78 records is
"stenkakor" -- stone cookies.
