I am currently researching the use of white lead putty and other caulking
materials used to seal deck seams aboard late-19th century wooden ships. If
anybody knows of periodicals or books that may be useful in terms of materials
and caulking techniques please let me know. Although the deck seams in aft
section of the ship I am working on does not appear to have been sealed the
forward section around the riding-bitts appear to have some sort of white
sealant. Thanks
