No, it's not, but have you wondered why they do it? Speculation (unproven
AFAIK) is that the antennae, being important and sensitive scent detectors need
to be cleaned of the adhering scents of the smelly interior of the hive to
help them operate more effectively in the more rarified scent evnironment
outside. Anthropomorphising, they are cleaning their palates.
