Last summer I at times I was huge numbers of bumble bees working the corn tassels on the sweet corn in my garden. It seemed there were three, four, even five bees working the tassels of each corn stalk. I did not notice any honey bees around, but then considering my location, I'm sure there were other sources of pollen available. Point is, bees do work the tassels of corn for pollen, sometimes quite vigorously.
