I agree. I approached TSC thinking that I was probably going to feel
disappointed, and was delighted to be mistaken. This is a well-written
story, getting inside the head of an eccentric musician (which is
commendable in itself) and weaving into it characters that are complex,
whom we learn to appreciate but not judge.
In addition, TSC has helped me to put an area of my own life into better
perspective. I am a flute player. My teacher, Sid Zeitlin, at the time
Principal Flute of the Minnesota Orchestra, was himself complicated and
conflicted. After he passed away I found myself left with some unanswered
questions that TSC has provided me with insight to define.
