Hello, all and forgive the cross postings
We are presenting what I hope and believe will be a very thought-
provoking session at AAM. Since the session is at the end of the day
on Sunday, I am a little concerned that many people will miss it.
So, if you are staying at the conference through Sunday, please do
come by and join the conversation. The information is below. I will
be glad to share notes and ideas with anyone who is interested.
Best regards, and hope to see you there.
Sunday, Apr 30
3:45 PM-5:00 PM
Format:
Single Session
Chaired by:
Eric Siegel, Executive Vice President, New York Hall of Science,
Queens, NY
Presenters:
Benjamin Filene, Senior Exhibit Developer, Minnesota Historical
Society, Saint Paul, MN
Deborah Schwartz, President, Brooklyn Historical Society, Brooklyn,
NY (and formerly Director of Education at MOMA)
Jennifer McGregor, Visual Arts Curator, Wave Hill, Inc., Bronx, NY
Description:
Take part in this opportunity to cross museum boundaries as you share
the challenges facing art, history, and science museums, and review
successful strategies to meet these challenges. The session will be
conducted by recognized leaders from each of the types of museums,
and will focus on interpretation, exhibitions, and audience
development. Participants will gain exposure to new approaches they
can apply to their own work by examining innovation in other types of
